Stacy’s broad knowledge of nutritional dietetics and personal growth strategies enriches the holistic programs offered at Nova Transformations, ensuring clients receive well-rounded and effective care. Stacy’s professional achievements are marked by her rapid ascent in the business world. Within just four months of launching her previous business, she earned a ranking in the top 2% of her company. Simultaneously, she coached numerous team members towards earning various managerial titles, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and mentorship abilities. Stacy oversees the flow of the company in regards to culture/outreach, working one-on-one with clients and family members to establish a solid foundation for recovery success. Andrew’s journey in the business world is a testament to his dedication and expertise. He single-handedly built a startup from the ground up, transforming it from a modest venture into a multimillion-dollar company within just three years. His knack for developing lucrative business models and overseeing their successful implementation has been a cornerstone of his career. Beyond his professional achievements, Andrew is deeply committed to community service. Since 2012, he has been an active participant in Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. His involvement goes beyond attendance; he volunteers his time and works closely with other members to facilitate positive outcomes for individuals on their recovery journeys. Through maintaining sponsor and sponsee relationships, Andrew exemplifies his dedication to helping others achieve lasting sobriety. Andrew oversees the financial aspects of the company, focusing on investing in innovative modalities and treatment opportunities to ensure that our clients and their families continue to receive the best possible care. Kelsey Trombetta serves as the Director of Clinical Quality and Human Resources at Nova Transformations, bringing over a decade of experience in behavioral health operations, compliance, and recovery services. Since beginning her own journey of recovery in 2014, Kelsey has dedicated her life to helping others find freedom from substance use and co-occurring disorders through compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care. Her career began at the entry level as a Behavioral Health Technician and evolved through roles such as Case Manager, Intake Coordinator, Program Director, Director of Compliance, and Chief Executive Officer. This hands-on progression across every layer of treatment operations has given Kelsey a unique and holistic understanding of what true client-centered recovery requires. Kelsey has successfully opened and licensed numerous facilities nationwide, working closely with state agencies, The Joint Commission, and CARF to ensure clinical excellence and compliance integrity. Her passion for ethical standards in behavioral healthcare drives her to build programs where every individual receives quality treatment delivered with dignity and respect. At Nova Transformations, Kelsey continues to lead with empathy and accountability—mentoring staff, implementing quality-assurance systems, and ensuring that Nova’s programs remain rooted in transparency, compassion, and recovery-driven purpose. Having once been on the other side of the treatment experience, she knows firsthand the difference that integrity and hope can make—and she strives every day to ensure that others have the same chance at a new beginning.

Dion Lovallo is a Director at Nova Transformations and a dedicated advocate for recovery and mental wellness. His passion for helping others is rooted in his own experience with substance use, having entered recovery after years of personal struggle that began in his teens. Before joining Nova, Dion co-founded the Carolina Center for Recovery in Matthews alongside his father, sponsor, and best friend. There, he developed a deep commitment to building programs that focus on purpose, structure, and community connection. At Nova, Dion brings that same heart-driven leadership—working closely with clients and staff to create an environment of safety, accountability, and hope. He believes recovery goes beyond sobriety, focusing on helping individuals rediscover who they are and what gives their lives meaning. “Helping others helps me stay sober,” Dion says, a principle that continues to guide his work every day. He remains committed to giving others the same chance at recovery that once changed his own life.

Dr. Neal Guffey was raised in Fez, Morocco. After returning to the US he attended prep school in New England but spent his summers working on a tobacco farm in rural North Carolina. After completing his undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, he went to Medical School at East Carolina and Residency at the Medical College of Virginia. His medical background includes internal medicine, anesthesiology, hospice/palliative care and addiction medicine. He has been extensively involved with MAT/addiction medicine for the past 10 years and truly enjoys working with patients and their families. His passions include family, skiing, mountain biking and landscaping. When not in the office you will probably find him riding his bike, planting a tree or scheduling his next outdoor adventure.

Ashetyn holds a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and is passionate about developing personalized care plans that focus on the whole person. She finds her work incredibly rewarding, especially when she can witness even one positive outcome, a reminder that every interaction has the potential to change a life. Her advice to clients? “Your life has purpose and value.” In her free time, Ashetyn enjoys hiking with her husband and dog. Jefforey E. Best, originally from Goldsboro, NC, has been a licensed therapist for two decades. He started his career in San Diego, California, in 1988. Jefforey has a MAC (NAADAC) licensure, CCS, and LCAS certificates from NCSAPPB. Jefforey is also trained in trauma response and grief therapy. He has practiced in California and North Carolina, providing a safe space for clients to address uncomfortable issues judgment-free. Jefforey identifies as a person in long-term recovery and understands the difficulty associated with early sobriety. He has worked in different milieu including substance abuse, mental health, and eating disorders, both Inpatient and outpatient services. Jefforey is an avid photographer, and he loves to travel, read, and spend time with his 3-year-old labradoodle. His favorite quote to live by is, “You did not wake up to be mediocre.”

Danielle Moore

Danielle holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor–Associate and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist–Associate. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as incarcerated individuals, clients with cognitive or physical impairments, those living with HIV, and individuals facing substance use, dual diagnoses, and other co-occurring conditions. What drew her to Nova Transformations was the genuine commitment to clients, the supportive culture, and the transparency of Stacy and Andrew’s story, which reaffirms why she became a therapist. Danielle is passionate about walking alongside clients as they rediscover themselves, build acceptance, and find lasting joy and fulfillment in life. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys basketball—she is a member of her university’s Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame—along with singing, traveling, and creating new experiences. Her guiding scripture is Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Teri’s passion for this work comes from a deeply personal connection to addiction and recovery. She believes people grow stronger through compassion and genuine human connection. At Nova Transformations, she strives to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to build a future that excites them. For more than seven years, Teri has worked as a Certified Addiction Counselor across multiple levels of care including Medication Assisted Treatment, PHP, SACOT, SAIOP, Detox, and Residential programs. Her experience in both group and individual therapy guides her client-centered approach, meeting people exactly where they are. The most rewarding part of her work is watching clients rediscover who they are and what they love about life. Her encouragement is clear: you deserve a life where you choose yourself and invest in your own healing. Outside of work, Teri enjoys exploring Charlotte, discovering new spots around the city, and connecting with new people. “Nothing changes if nothing changes.”

With years of professional experience under his belt in both the operations and business side of treatment, Neal has cultivated a skill set that allows him to effectively guide individuals seeking help through the first crucial steps of their journey to recovery. His personal experience with addiction not only informs his professional approach but also fuels his passion for supporting others facing similar struggles. Neal identifies as a person in long-term recovery and his work in the treatment field is as much about allowing him to stay connected to the process as it is about helping others find their own paths. Neal’s role is characterized by his empathetic demeanor and his understanding that everyone’s recovery process is going to look a little different. He believes that every individual deserves a chance at recovery, and he works tirelessly to ensure that each person receives the support they need during their initial steps towards healing. Neal believes that addiction breeds a strong sense of isolation and that one of the most powerful things that happens in recovery is the ability to regain connection with others. He understands that recovery is not a solitary journey; it is a community effort. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Neal is a family-oriented person. He has a partner who is also in recovery and is a proud father to a beautiful baby boy. He enjoys reading, hiking, playing music and singing, photography, spending time with his family, and navigating through all the beautiful experiences life has to offer after taking his own first steps in his recovery journey.

Zoie graduated from Penn Foster with a certificate in event planning and brings that same creativity and care into her leadership role. She’s deeply empathetic toward those facing substance use and mental health challenges and takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for every client and family. Outside of work, Zoie enjoys time with her friends and family, painting, reading, and hitting the gym. She believes in living with intention and building healthy habits that align with her goals. Amanda brings compassion, lived experience, and a strong commitment to supporting individuals in recovery. Her own journey through treatment fueled her passion to help others feel respected, understood, and encouraged. She believes everyone deserves a chance to rebuild their life with dignity and real support. Amanda is a Certified Peer Support Specialist and has been in recovery since January 2023. She is working toward becoming a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, continuing to grow her ability to guide others through their healing. She finds the greatest reward in sharing pieces of her story and showing clients that change is possible. Her encouragement is simple: don’t give up. Progress is happening even when it doesn’t feel visible. After starting her own alcohol-free journey in 2021 and completing certification through This Naked Mind, she now helps others explore life beyond alcohol.
