Dr. Neal Guffey was raised in Fez, Morocco. After returning to the US he attended prep school in New England but spent his summers working on a tobacco farm in rural North Carolina. After completing his undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, he went to Medical School at East Carolina and Residency at the Medical College of Virginia. His medical background includes internal medicine, anesthesiology, hospice/palliative care and addiction medicine. He has been extensively involved with MAT/addiction medicine for the past 10 years and truly enjoys working with patients and their families. His passions include family, skiing, mountain biking and landscaping. When not in the office you will probably find him riding his bike, planting a tree or scheduling his next outdoor adventure.
