Addiction Treatment That Works With Your CPCC Schedule

If you’re a Central Piedmont Community College student struggling with alcohol or drugs, you might think you have to choose: drop out to get help, or keep using and hope things get better on their own.

That’s a false choice. At Nova Transformations, we’ve designed our programs specifically to work around busy lives—including college students juggling classes, work, and family responsibilities. Our Matthews location is just minutes from CPCC’s Levine Campus, and our flexible scheduling means you can attend treatment without missing your classes.

You don’t have to put your education on hold to get the help you need.

We Understand What You’re Going Through

College is stressful. Academic pressure, financial stress, social anxiety, and the freedom of being on your own can make substance use feel like a solution. But when casual use becomes dependency, it starts affecting your grades, your relationships, and your future. The good news? Recovery is possible—and you can do it while staying in school.

Flexible Programs Designed for Students

We offer two main outpatient programs that can work around your CPCC class schedule:

Most Flexible

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Evening Sessions Available

Perfect for students who need structured support while maintaining their course load.

  • 3-4 sessions per week
  • 3-4 hours per session
  • Evening scheduling available
  • 8-12 week program length
  • Individual + group therapy
  • Continue living at home

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Daytime Treatment, Higher Intensity

More intensive support for those who need it, with options to adjust class schedules.

  • 5-6 days per week
  • 5-6 hours per day
  • Daytime programming
  • Medical monitoring
  • Psychiatric support
  • May require schedule adjustments

For most CPCC students, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides the right balance of intensive treatment and schedule flexibility. You can attend classes during the day and treatment in the evening—never missing a lecture or falling behind on coursework.

If you need more intensive support, our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) can often work with reduced course loads or online classes. CPCC’s academic advisors and Disability Services can help you adjust your schedule if needed.

What Your Week Could Look Like

Frequently Asked Questions: CPCC Students & Addiction Treatment

Can I attend addiction treatment while taking classes at CPCC?
Yes. Nova Transformations offers flexible Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) with evening sessions that work around your Central Piedmont class schedule. You can attend morning or afternoon classes and receive treatment in the evenings, allowing you to stay enrolled and on track to graduate.
How close is Nova Transformations to CPCC campuses?
Nova Transformations is located at 3326 Siskey Pkwy in Matthews, NC—just about 5 minutes from CPCC’s Levine Campus (2800 Campus Ridge Road). We’re also easily accessible from Central Campus, Harper Campus, Harris Campus, and Cato Campus via I-485 and major Charlotte roads.
Will my professors or classmates know I’m in treatment?
Your treatment is completely confidential under federal HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 laws. We will never contact your school, professors, or classmates without your written permission. If you need documentation for academic accommodations, we can provide it only with your explicit consent.
Can I use my parents’ insurance for addiction treatment as a CPCC student?
Yes. If you’re under 26, you can remain on your parents’ health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Most major insurance plans cover addiction treatment. We offer free, confidential insurance verification to explain your coverage and estimated costs before you start treatment.
What if I need to miss some classes for treatment?
Our IOP program is designed so you typically won’t need to miss classes—sessions are held in the evenings. If you need a higher level of care like PHP and need to adjust your class schedule, CPCC’s Disability and Access Services can help arrange academic accommodations. Your education and recovery can absolutely happen together.

How long does treatment take? Will I fall behind in school?
IOP typically runs 3-4 days per week for 8-12 weeks, with sessions lasting 3-4 hours in the evening. Many students complete treatment while maintaining their full course load. PHP is more intensive (5-6 days/week) but can still work with adjusted class schedules or online courses. We’ll create a plan that prioritizes both your recovery and your education.
